About BDAG
Business Development Assistance Group, Inc. (BDAG) is
a not-for-profit, 501(c)-(3) organization. Incorporated in the State of Virginia in 1992,
the mission of BDAG is to help small and minority-owned businesses become more viable in
American economic life through educational programs, workshops and training seminars.
BDAG encourages these small businesses, especially those owned by language minorities or new immigrants,
to participate in both economic and community developmental activities so they can merge quickly and
effectively into the economic mainstream.
BDAG has been recognized as a primary resource for small
and minority businesses by the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, the Arlingotn County Government Economic Development
Department.
In 1992, 1993 and 1994, BDAG was the principal organizer of the "Minority Business Opportunity Fair"
in Arlington, where more than 800 people attended the fair each year. As a result, BDAG was awarded the prestigious
"Friend of Small Businesses Award" by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.
About ECNA With the opening of the Entrepreneurship Center for New Americans (ECNA), BDAG is now able to
provide its service to a much wider geographical area in the state of Virginia.
The purpose of the Entrepreneurship Center for New Americans is to offer
business counseling, technical training as well as business mentoring and networking
for the New Americans who wish to start, stay in, and expand their own businesses in Northern Virginia.
The goal of the Center is to maximize the entrepreneurship potential of these immigrants by providing
them with economic opportunities and American business knowledge and tools, so they can quickly
become self sufficient and contributing taxpayers within the county, state and nation.
About CBPD The Center for Business Planning and Development (CBPD) is now open at 6245 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, Virginia. This Center is a joint partnership between
the Northern Virginia Workforce Development Council, the Fairfax County Department of Family Services and Business Development Assistance Group.
The mission of the Center is to be a hub of information, resource and technical assistance for current and future small businesses.
The Center combines the latest technology in business research, business reference information, up-to-date business opportunities and on-site technical assistance under one roof.
The Center encourages, especially
those owned by language minorities, to participate in both economic and community activities, allowing them to integrate quickly and effetively into the economic mainstream. The Center will also provide business
development workshops and offer program and services in multiple languages.
